What's your favorite chassis?
Been playing the game for a bit and I've found that the plasma spiral and the pulse rifle are my 2 favorite chassis to use. just be careful with the plasma spiral, if built wrong it will lag out the game

Still trying to get all the chassis, but so far the assault rifle seems the best.

I haven't checked the special sniper, flamethrower, or super expensive chassis yet, but ignoring those, assault rifle has the 3rd highest single target dps at base (Although 6 other guns have higher total POTENTIAL DPS), good reload, bullet size, highest amount of ammo (Synergizes well with the ammo addon and firerate barrel), and third highest velocity (Easily hits any enemy).

Although as I look a little more into this augments, I feel like fire-rate doesn't matter, as enough magazine + the advanced hellsplitter barrel will cap out fire-rate anyways. So I might want to focus on a higher base damage gun with decent ammo.

My favorite is probably the helix rocket, but I also really like the shotgun because a 1 max ammo grenade launcher build is just amazing.

1 ammo shotgun with endless ammo belt + grenade launcher is fantastic!

I'm still missing 3 chassis' but I have used the shotgun the most, mostly for 1-mag builds. Also for the bullet count.

Just got the 360 hellfire barrel and did that with homing on shotgun. Felt good with a bullet count almost 100.

Assault rifle is the "best" balanced starting gun, but my personal preference is the Ultralight railgun- in theory you're supposed to charge it before you fire it- in practice it has near infinite rate of fire so long as you ignore that and keep manually clicking- because ROF instead boosts how quickly it ramps up damage.

Spamming ultralight railgun isn't good for my wrist injuries, but boy if I max out fire-rate and damage, it might be the most fun gun, especially if I can get some wacky high bullet spread so I have no idea where the bullets go.

Reminds me, I actually want genes that INCREASE bullet spread.

Pistol. Well balanced gun with no real drawbacks while not being OP to begin with either.

And gets augments faster, so pistol is OP for tank builds.

Agreed. You can create your build very quickly using the pistol.

What do you mean it gets augments faster?

Pistol has a special trait where you have augment drop pods more frequently. Other guns will have more tuning drop pods spaced between each augment drop pod.

Hydra is my favourite, sadly it also kills the FPS and the game crawls to a stop.

That's the worst. I have less issue with that than i had in beta, but with a containment field/helix barrel build focused on bullet life and penetrations I get a bit of frame rate issue at some points towards the end of the round.
