Cracking the Cryptic

I'm stuck after the break in. I got the thermo and the middle figured out, I tried working out the row 9 sandwhich and have some limitations of the 1/9s, but I'm stuck.

I have no idea what the hint 3 is supposed to be pointing to either. Nothing about the position of 7 in column 9 seems relevant to me. There's at least 4 positions it can be with nothing that helps.

Any help?

I just took a look at it, and I remember there was a thermometer line on the bottom row that I almost missed, because I clicked the sandwich clue, which also puts a line. I'll try to redo it and see if I can give some specific help.

Ok, I hope I can explain it properly. But I have the following options for row 9 box 8:

C4: 45678
C5: 567
C6: 348

These cells all need to be part of the sandwich, so 68 is not an option. The 4 cell option is not possible with (maybe you also need to check the possible values for c3 en c7 to see that). So now we know the sandwich is just those three cells. They cannot contain a 2, so it's 347 or 356. Because of the thermometer and the options available, you cannot put in 347, no matter which way the thermometer goes, so it has to be 356 and it only fits one way.

Excellent! That's what I needed. Thank you so much!

In r9, couldn't c3 or c7 have a 2 and therefore allow a 4 cell sandwich...

I only have the middle thermometer and the middle 14 and 16 sandwiches.
Is there something else to consider first?

If you put a 2 there, then you cannot make the 4 combination because of the thermometer. If you put it on c3 for example, the 3 on c6 is not available anymore, because it's lower than a 5. If you put it on c7, the thermometer makes it that you can't have a 4.
