Today, all the worlds of Princess Hunter are celebrating a music festival! This event in honor of the birthday of our composer, the magnificent and incomparable Kate Yantser! Her music and magical voice will help you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of adventure and amazing wanderings. On behalf of the whole team, we congratulate Kate and look forward to hearing more of her marvelous works. Please join us in congratulating her - she will be very pleased!

The second important reason for celebration is that thanks to the efforts of programmers, wonderful music and many sounds are now not just lying in folders, but added to the game! We are one step closer to release.

Every game needs a set of core gameplay rules embodied in code. But in some cases, it is necessary to break these rules, for example, to make a quest more interesting, to add a plot twist, or to display a cutscene.

To keep the game system from collapsing like a house of cards because of such interventions, it must be “broken” carefully and expertly. When done well, such extra mechanics become a useful mechanism rather than a buggy workaround that is not only safe to use in normal situations, but also provides new tools to bring other ideas to life.

Normally, new areas (in Wyrdwood, they are represented by clearings) open up as soon as the Gunslinger gets close to them. But now we've implemented hidden areas and secret paths! The player will be able to find them by completing quests, learning about them by talking to other characters, or by finding a map.

Let's face it: We all hate tutorials. Players hate going through them; developers hate making them. But experience shows that if the game is good, players won't complain too much after even the most annoying tutorial. But if the game is complicated and has no tutorial, players are very likely to give up.

That's why, even in the demo version, we're taking our time to create a simplified and brief tutorial for all the basic mechanics. For now, it consists of pop-up windows and tooltips, but in the full version of the game, we plan to seriously rework the tutorial and integrate it into the game as organically as possible, discreetly prompting the player when necessary.

The Gunslinger can now run diagonally, as well as orthogonally!

Not only does this make his movements lighter and smoother, but it also helps to eliminate some of the visual morphing bugs when transitioning between different states.

The game has passed another milestone! It seems like not so long ago we were celebrating 25k wishlists, and today we've already crossed 40k..... that's fantastic! Thank you so much for believing in us, waiting and supporting us. You're the best!

We are now working very hard to make the build of the game better. Every week we are getting a step or two closer to release, and the game is bigger, more beautiful and more interesting. But besides that we decided to try to conquer Youtube! That's why we've started to post our comics voiceovers there. We have updated the last “anniversary” issue to the current figure and we are glad to share it with you!

One thing's for sure: she certainly can't do it without the help of the Gunslinger....

Before this, we showed you the Wyrdwood, but as the Master wrote, “there are other worlds than these.” The Gunslinger will have to travel a lot across different worlds in search of princesses, and one day the road will lead him to cold lands known as the Snowy Peaks.

These mountains were once filled with magical crystals and magical ores, but the Crimson King pumped out the rocky depths. Since then, the Snowy Peaks have slowly faded away, and the emptied mountains have sunk. The harpies, who once ruled the peaks, have not been seen for a very long time, and without the Guardian Princess, any world is doomed.

The Princess Hunter is back for another festival! This time at the Steam Deck Builders Fest, which will be held March 25 - April 1.
