You might be able to get some from shipping, but it probably requires some really good items being shipped.
EDIT: If you're going the Trading route, which to me is the easiest, start collecting Ironstone and saving them up if you're not Rank 4 yet. They're asking for 8 Ironstone for 1 Magic Stone when you Make a Trade by Bidding. Focus on encounters that can drop them, or for an easier time, do Mr. S trials. Ones like Clean Sweep practically give them away, but the trials mix up which ones give Ironstone at times.
Brutal fights will drop them, so there's going to be a handful that show up depending on how you play. Before I finished my first playthrough with Mido, I was never starved for Brutal fights because I was always doing everything I possibly could in each world I was in. I know you were wanting something easy though, so I'm listing this outside the easier methods in case anyone reads the thread with the same question.
Ok I have been in the dark it seems. I have randomly just put 1 mat or equipment and now realise if I use 12 of anything I can get a magic stone?
What’s the % guarantee? I remember using 4-5 mats and wasn’t different to 1 so never tried 12.
Edit: My bad…realised I confused shipping with bidding. I always do 1 metal stone and grab whatever material I’m low on when shipping lol. I’m trade rank 5 but yet to see them in the bid menu.
You might be able to wing Magic Stones from Shipping at a certain rank with a big enough shipment. Shipping trades slowly start to work out a little more in your favor as your level goes up, but they tend to be more net negative than the options you get from the Bid menu by default. Still, once you get to Rank 5, you can farm neutral trades of +1 basic weapons like Samurai Sword +1s and even end up with net positive 20 spirit stone trades from Cyclops for steady trade exp.
