I found the story in ameyas game to be interesting and it hits at something more sinister.
Not Japanese, but I know in their big cities living space is extremely limited. Dogs take space because they are more active. Even a small dog, you need to walk it an such.
A cat just lives there, you only have to feed it and it gives you companionship. Also, cats have the big eyes, small nose/mouth aesthetic that a lot of anime designs go for.
Just my 2 cents on the matter, not an authority by any means.
Don't think that's a good reason to filter players
It’s god awful. The story written for pre teens cause it sure feels like it. Over all I still give the game a B,B+ Divas story has been lame and I feel like a stupid fetch bot. I did all the blue portal quests and all except the pirate one was good. I dunno. Maybe I am getting too old to be gaming.
I wasn’t a fan of Diva’s either…but Mido’s story was what sold me on this game. I sunk 20 hours being determined to beat all brutal divine elemental spirits.
I actually found that this game has lots of battles. Ameya not so much when I played hers, but I was at a Providece area and had 8-12 doors and each had a battle and the last was a unique boss that seemed to tie some mystery into the game.
And the way some things have interlinked between characters, I’m really enjoying this as my favourite SaGa so far.
I don't think those characters are done well story wise. They don't have much backstory or much character development honestly. Their overarching story is not that compelling, and their adventure along the way is not interesting either. It feels like they are thrust into situations in any given world for no real reason. It was also a bad idea to foist three cats on them as their initial party instead of giving them a more interesting party like Ameya's, Siugnas's or Diva's.
But on a playthrough with Siugnas, I'm enjoying things much more. He has actual characters and the way he approaches problems is more entertaining. I also feel like, either by lucky chance or deliberate choice, the worlds have been much more interesting with them. In bonnie and formina's playthrough I got almost no new characters until the end of the game. Moreover, the story in each world felt totally detached from them. Playing with Siugnas's group, I've had a much better experience with every world, and some of the ones I revisited were totally different but always in a good way.
