If a monster skill is tied to a piece of equipment, you can shuffle the skill around between characters, in case one of them learns a skill that you need on a different character. Just make sure that a removeable piece of equipment is what absorbs the monster skill.
I should also mention that just having those high-power counterattack and interrupts on a monster will be good when the monster gets a showstopper. That's how I defeated Bonnie & Formina's final boss.
It's called Elemental Salvo. I didn't realize that they were considered monsters... I need that technique.
If you get two monsters with it and two casters with Hypergravity, you can push the enemy into 0-1 BP forever for ultra cheese. Sadly, Elemental Salvo only works on 2 Channel spells (I don't think there are any 3 Channel ones, at least none that I've seen or used).
Most skills I've found are nothing exciting, but I have yet to do a monster focused party. They're definitely the party members that make me wish there was a fast forward button though.
It might be difficult to even find enough monsters. Bonnie & Formina start off with those three cats, which is the most I've seen and gotten.
That's interesting. So it seems like the best option for a Monster run might be Ameya, LoLo, Imakoo, Kina, and Gourmand.
EDIT: Wait a minute... what about the blobs in Kosmos? Are they exclusive to certain routes?
I was under the impression that only Relic Bearers could use those. The only one I know of is Wednesday.
Yes, the blobs can use monster techs, but they are ephemerals, so they'd technically fall into the 'honorary monster' category. You get either one blob or the other depending on weather you're on an odd/even numbered run through Kosmos.
But all Ephemerals are a sort of sub-type, aren't they? If anything, I'd say that Monster is the type, and Ephemeral is the extra adjustment, since you can have an Ephemeral that is also a Human in how they work. Maybe it's just a matter of perspective though.
Its mostly prespective, there aren't enough Ephemerals for there to be such a thing as a 'standard ephemeral'. Their unique Ephemeral Role does make them good at whatever role you set them up for (mostly due to the -1 BP cost for the relevant category of techs).
Yeah, and sometimes that's handy. By "use them," I meant use them to do the Monster Thing of Unleashing and Absorbing. So in my head a Relic Bearer is closer to a Monster than a Mech. Again, just arbitrary perspective I guess! lol
