Playing with a gamepad
Testing out the F1 Demo and it seems to be nearly impossible to control the game with a gamepad. I thought gamepad users were the largest portion playing the game and codemasters said they would cater to that crowd.

The problem is that the cars require precision, but with a gamepad even a small turn of the stick results in quite a big change in direction. Taking the turns with any of precision goes out the window.

Is there are something that i missed, or is the game just made to be played with a wheel?

I can myself having a ton of fun with this one if i could make the stick on the gamepad and the steering of the car inversely proportional or something.

I just bought this game and my wired xbox 360 controller works fantastic with the game, I just left the steering controls at the default settings when I first started the game and it feels good to me so I left it alone.

yep as I said for steering the default settings worked great for me, I only changed the shift buttons in the options. also you can access the controller steering adjustments while driving, just stop the car and hit esc then options and advanced wheel settings, this way you don't have to go to the main screen to adjust the steering so it's faster to get back to the car and try your new settings.

Yeah i tried all the advanced settings but no dice. Maybe its because the F1 demo is version 1.0 and not patched? I'm using a rumblepad 2. Driving the Formula 3000 cars in Race07 for example feels fine, but those F1 cars here are way too twitchy with my gamepad. Oh well.

I'm playing with xbox 360 controller. If you play with gamepads a lot you should get yourself one, it works perfectly for me in any game

For some it's easier to do, since they may be more experienced with driving games, but again, that came from practice.

+1. I ran the traning mode for days just so I could learn to drive the car, as myself I drive my 1/4 dragster at my local track and yes driving any race car takes time and practice to be good at it

Does this game works with a dualshock 4, with no other software installed?
