There's are two specific bosses to avoid also, Nobunaga the Wicked (Nobunaga's Fortress) (as you only score hits when under the lamps and he's unfreezable) and Sato the Sagemaster the the Theatre of Illusions (unless you have Freeze), neither are hard to kill, they can just take longer (and burn time) if you don't have big hitting weapons.
My record is just shy over 21 minutes, although this was in EA. Maybe 22 minutes is more reasonable?
Seems like it's the close range equivalent of kunai.
Both are so amazing with Shockwave also.
It seems to clear waves instantly.
But maybe the animation is too slow ?
- Pretty obvious - play on Day 1 for swift killer attempts
- If you're aiming to get all achievements, leave all the swift killer stamps for last. Having a lot of skulls will help you get good starter tiles. Each hero has two starter sets and 1 random set which you can reroll by spending skulls. You can try to fish for ranged starter tiles on heroes you are having a hard time with.
- Ranged tiles are king - always prioritize getting/upgrading ranged tiles. You can easily beat the game with a single zero-cooldown ranged tiles. Go for -2 cooldown upgrades or +1 damage. Ideally you would have 1 (or two) ranged tiles with 0 or 1 cooldown near the end of the run. The pistol is quite good as this allows you to kill enemies w/ 1 hit until mid-game, allowing you to save gold and go for -2 cooldown shops.
- Limit your ranged tiles to only 5 damage. Aside from bosses, all enemies on Day 1 will only have up to 5 health. It's better to have two ranged tiles with 5 damage each than 1 very strong tile. This way, you can take care of 'quick' enemies behind the 5-health ones with a combo. Also opens you up to taking combo skills from the shop.
- Try to get to 1 side with a movement tile or simply by moving there. Staying on 1 side removes the need to turn around, allowing you to just spam your ranged attacks.
