Kyass is a bonus town, and it effectively contains a bunch of side quests (and also the cheapest high-tier spells in the game if you do all of them).
Did you steal from Patrick's tower as well? There shouldn't be any reason for them to attack you otherwise. At least the incident at Kyass shouldn't cause that.
Well anyway, I had to remind myself by checking a walkthrough, but if I checked correctly, you are in a bad situation. You need to complete a certain quest in the tower to acquire an item you'll need to progress later in the game.
You can still complete 2 of the 3 main quests but you are locked out of doing (spoiler tags for reason if you don't want to know which quest it is) the last quest in the game: assassinating Emperor Hawthorne.
If you want to avert the problem, your options are a) to restore an earlier save game or b) to use the text box in-game and type out the following: forgiveme
The box can be opened by Shift+D. The code should do the following (according to the Spiderweb Software forums): "Makes all of the areas in the game forget your crimes. If you were hated there, you won’t be anymore. Note that certain crimes (stealing artifacts, killing major characters) won’t be forgotten."
I don't know whether this prevents you from getting achievements for that save game.
Also mind you: this will probably only work if you didn't kill Patrick and his wife, since you need both for the quest.
Did you by chance kill some skeleton dude? He ought to open the gate for you when you talk to them.
If you did... well, I'm not sure whether it's possible to open it any other way. Also, forgiveme cheat might or might not revive characters. You might want to try that.
I'm sorry, I don't know whether there's a "reset dungeon" cheat or similar. There might be a script for that but I'm not aware of such thing for A:EftP. Good luck!
