What are the best other Inti Creates games?
I didn't like Bloodstained very much, felt half-baked. I think I actually liked CoTM more but not really interested in the nes aesthetic.

I really like Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 and Luminous Avenger iX.

I gather that's the popular opinion on Bloodstained and CoTM. I haven't tried them myself though I've been interested. I just love their Gal Gun games, the highschool anime rail-shooter. I place them as follows top 3:

1: Gal Gun Double Peace - Tongue in cheek anime humour with the best trophy list.
2: Gal Gun / Gal Gun Returns - Just as good as GG Double Peace in many ways but clearly the first step for the series, before refining.
3: Gal Gun 2 - Not a real rail shooter as you stand on single spots, to make it good for VR. It's funny too but feels like actual fan service.
4: Gal Gun VR - I haven't played this one actually, but I gather it's basically a tech demo for what became GG2 so I'm guessing it would go here in the list. Probably has its own merits.

My all time favorite is Megaman Zero 2. It was intro into that series. I enjoyed that it had rewards for the player for playing well both in terms of abilities and boss difficulty.

I spent a lot of time S ranking every stage.

If you have VR, Gal gun 2 is best

[Insert obligatoty extremely common opinion stating Zero 3 is their best game]

But when they developed Zero games they were part of capcom, right? I only meant games they made fully independently

Not exactly, they were contracted to make them, in about the same manner that they were with Blaster Master Zero or their take on Bloodstained. Hell the only reason they were even approached was because Inafune vouched for them a lot, else they would've never been involved since the founders quit Capcom.

I see, was unclear on the founding of the studio. I stopped playing console games as much right during that time.

Pretty much any Zero game (yes, even Zero 1; I've got a soft spot for it) and ZX

Any Gunvolt game (especially GV3)

Blaster Master Zero is pretty good too

havent played Bloodstained or CotM yet

Hard to say. The Mega Man Zero games are excellent, but there's also Mega Man 9 and 10 which are both fantastic. The Blaster Master Zero trilogy is amazing too.

The Gunvolt games, especially 2. The Gal Gun games are much better than I expected, but if you're playing this, you presumably already know them.

1) Azure Striker Gunvolt 3
2) Megaman Zero 3
2) Megaman Zero 4
4) Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2
5) Megaman Zero 1
6) Blaster Master Zero 2
7) Megaman Zero 2
8) Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
9) Blaster Master Zero 3
10) Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX

That's my personal list but, also, I'm not rating Gal Gun games because they're so different from usual Inti games.

Me too. There's a couple of bad points (the escort mission lol) but I like it more than 2.

edit:

also Gal Gun opinions:

without VR, play Returns.
with VR, play Gal Gun 2.
regardless, avoid Double Peace. It has the worst levels, by far the worst minigames, the only real point it has is that you can learn the origins of the Kamizono sisters...

Funny because the most liked of the GG games is Double Peace. Also no, the worst "game" of those is by a mile GG2, that thing is an absolute chore to play and no amount of VR crap can save those defense missions, and the whole game is just boring as hell compared to the other 2 (not considering VR cause that's just a tech demo of 2).

Double Peace is a light gun game for mental geriatrics playing on a gamepad plus also the most boring minigame ever conceived repeated several times per playthrough. It is, at best, a worse version of Returns, which featured a more exciting level design, a better combo system, vastly better minigames, better characterisation of the cast... if Double Peace is most liked it's because it's the first major release in the west or, otherwise, because it had more of a fanservice orientation

Also I agree that the defence missions in GG2 are boring. But the actual standard missions (and the few missions where you have to search for items) are mad fun in VR.
