Down to rescuing the last girl

So it looks like the community has settled on 40 panties in total with 32 girls to rescue. I have 31 in the gymnasium. Has anyone cracked the code for locating girls or how many girls there are per stage? Or even if there is a difference between upper and lower floor girls? eg 1st floor girls are for the first levels 2nd floor girls are library and up.

If you are only in need of 1 more girl, the only thing I can really advice is to spam that search button and go every route, unless you know who specifically you are missing.
Another thing I found late is reading the map layout. Like the hidden underground room in stage 4 was my last person to rescue because I only decided then to actually look at the map.
Anywho, 16 are on the first floor, so 16 also on second floor.
Personally, I don't think their stages are dictated by upper n lower stages.
Little miss negative for example is found on stage 1, but hangs around the second floor.

Yeah I am just trying to give a reason to the madness. I find the map not intuitive. I did try to use it and got lost fast. Is there a way to know who is missing? I'll have to check there names but I can't cross reference it until someone puts up a complete gymnasium picture and even then how do you know which girl came from where?

It is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess. I am fine tooth combing everything right now. The library seems to be the only place so far that is 100% complete it is easy to track since the majority of that level is just doors to a main hub.

I'm missing one too.... I know that where they appear is not connected to where they are found.

Do the girls actually show up on the tracker?? They don't seem to for me, but maybe I haven't been checking often enough. Also, some of them don't seem to scream for help until you're right on top of them.

I think they will show up on the compass and make noise if they are one screen away. My last one was in castle peaks. The secret room found by falling down the wind pad by the dragon.

Yeah that was a really frustrating find. The punishing death pits scarred me into not exploring situations like that. I am just waiting on a rift map since I am down to two rifts left for the main characters and I am not spending any more time searching for just an achievement.

I posted this on another thread, but figured I would put it here too.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but on the off-chance that is does.... I found the last pair of panties on the Clock Tower level... best I can explain is upper-left. There is an area where you are 'outside' and have to go back and forth a number of times as you go up... area is all mages, one or two per level. When you exit there is a horizontally moving platform (one you need to attack to move)... room is full of ghosts. In the middle was the portal. Another platform on other side. If you come from other direction, it is at the bottom of a room with a vertical lift (attack lift) with the little helmet wearing spiders jumping on the platform from the sides.

Edit: When I first saw the portal I got so excited I tried to jump to the platform from way-to-far-away and went plummeting to my death!!

Not very detailed, but here's a quick checklist for you. You may check the name of the girls in your gymnasium and find out who's missing, as well as the stage where you can find her.

As a side note, it seems that several people (including myself) suffered with Ruriko Mikasa in stage 4, finding her at the very last.

I also made a google docs spreadsheet :) You can write in who you've found and be advised who to find next on what stage. You can opt in for a more detailed hint. Or you can see how many students you've found in each stage and opt in to see the total per stage.

I am down to the panties of Shabu Shabu and Maya. Once my weekend starts I can do one or two more runs and then just set it down achievement or not. This is helpful stuff for everyone who isn't done yet though.

Thanks I managed to grab the final panties without any guides surprisingly. I went back to the Caverns and found both in the same room. Shabu Shabu's by the device part and Maya's completely opposite on the lower path at the end of that room. Not worth it at all.
