I cannot move ships on Endless Space :( I have tried every suggestion so far! Please help!
I have a new Macbook Pro and I just installed Endless Space. The game runs fine but I cannot move ships.

I have created individual fleets for them and the ships are able to move using automated explore only. Otherwise each time I click on the ship and click on another star system, all that happens is that the star system is selected.

I have tried enabling right-click on my track pad. I have tried using the Control key, Command key, the Shift key (both right and left), the Tab key and various combinations of all, but still the ships do not move individually to where I want them to go.

Please help me. Thank you.

You are supposed to select your fleet then right click on the system where you want to send it. However, for Mac users, it is what you already have set as a right click that should work (usually a double tap, at least that is what I use on the Macbook Pro).

Got the same problem. Ctrl+click doesn't work either. Double clicking - nope. Tried everything I can think of. Bug?

I have the same problem on a Win7 PC. I think it's a bug. Please fix that quickly, otherwise I cannot but uninstall!

Had the same, happens now and then...pressing left-shift and THEN moving the ship did the trick. I agree it should be fixed ASAP, it is a quite serious bug.

Lest anyone think this is a newbie problem, I've been playing ES since beta and I've run into the same problem. The bug is you simply can't move your ships. You can see the path you've ordered them to go on, they just don't move. The only way I've found to fix it is to quit entirely.

shift buttons works for me sometimes it takes a couple of hits though

Hitting this right at the beginning of first game out of tutorial. That's a pretty brutal bug to let slip through for your promo weekend.

I had this....for some reason the left shift seems to get registered. Just left-shift again and it should reset.

I also had this once, the other time i was just not clicking on the planet itself. You really have to click ON the planet very very precise.

This is my main problem with the game, it takes way to many times reissueing the same move orders to actually get a ship to listen to you. After you get 6 or 7 ships flying around it just becomes to much of a headache, If this was fixed i'd have no problem getting and playing this.

I know some of you really get off on telling people how stupid they are but the fact is there is a bug in the game. I've been playing for 3 hours without a problem and I've been able to move my fleets around however it has just now stopped working. All my fleets are stuck in their system and won't move. I had to restart the game to get it working again.

I had the same problem on my very first game and I had to quit and start a new game to get it working. The game gave feedback that I was right-clicking on the star system correctly (a sound and the "fleet without orders" counter decreased), but the fleets just remained in orbit around the home system.

same issue, shift doesnt help. guess i wont be buying a game that is unplayable half the time even if it seemed really fun at first. now i just waste a bunch of turns trying to get my fleets to move or have to reload old saves constantly. it bugs out every few moves and stays broken.

What happens for most players is that you use Shift-Tab to chat or check Steam or whatever, and when you come back, the game thinks you are holding down the shift key. You will see a little "L.Shift" at the top center of your screen. When that's up, none of your ships will move. Hit the left shift key, that clears up and your ships are fine. There may be an additional bug, but this is the solution for most people.

I was having the same issue. Spent an hour trying everything I could think of. Finally found a fix (for me anyhow). I'm on a Macbook Pro. I found that turning off the "Tap to Click" option for the trackpad in the Mac Preferences did the trick. Now I can select a fleet and "two finger" click to make the fleet move to that star system.
