"Don't Even Think About It" (updated with easy win seed)
looking for someone who wants to trade off the achievement "Don't Even Think About It"
the achievement requires you to "Create a custom faction with -195 points or less, and win a game with it on Endless difficulty"

one of us would go for the best traits to be able to keep the AI at bay while the other takes the required negatives and builds up for a expansion or supremacy victory, and playing on a tiny map, this shouldn't take long

never mind, got lucky and found the perfect seed "1460774354"
the galaxy setup was spiral 2, tiny, 2 players, old
the advanced galaxy settings, listed by position;
average low
low unique
low close
many bigger
normal

set difficulty to endless (duh) speed fast
in the advanced settings;
set exploration events to full
galaxy seed for events, there are a few key events
no pirates
and use the seed I gave above

I used the sheredyn base for my race (the Corvettes being able to hold more tonnage in weapons was nice) though I am sure this can be done with many combinations
I picked Amoeba for my oponent, him being able to see the map means he sends out his colony ship right away to die to youe scout, heh

when the battle starts send your scout west and your colony ship south and get tundra research going
at the scouts destination there will be an event, I went with the advanced defense ship, group them and go mess with your oponent after killing his incomming colony ship
turn 11 you get an event giving you another colony ship, send it south again
and with those 3 plannets go full production and flood the enemy with ships and bomb him into submission

have fun, and enjoy your stupidly hard to get achievement

My first try with every available negative on Endless... lets just say I found a scout ship, and suddenly almost went bankrupt before I realized my mistake and dismantled it... :/

Fortunately I wasn't about to do the whole game, but simply get an idea of what this civ would look like :P

Do these settings still work? wasn't sure if Auriga changed the seed generation, this was posted 4 months ago after all.

nope just tried it, it's a totaly different galaxy generation now. though there is nothing to say that you can't find a seed like I did, play Amoeba and keep restarting till you find a setup like what I found, I was 2 jumps from my oponent, he was pinned in a corner with no where to go but to the one system between us. a similar layout should be good enough to get the win, once you find it save the seed and restart using your gimped race. good luck

Well its not exactly working. I don't trigger the exploration events you mentioned but meh, I can't complain if the game gives me a challenge.
glavitar Jan 20, 2014 @ 4:12pm
I still got the events, make sure you have it set to use the seed for events

I found it easier to get this achievement when I had 7 other computer players instead of just one, as they kept each other at bay while I could slowly build up. Just make sure you turn off most victory conditions and have good starting hero's.

Now if only someone had a seed with the two hero's needed for Immortal Bard

For immortal bard I set up a small galaxy versus 1 other AI (more and the chance that the required heroes get snatched up by the AI is that much greater) and rerolled the match until I got at least 1 of the heroes as a starting pick (I tried to get both on turn 1 for about 2 hours then gave up).

Oh make sure the game speed is fast and all victory condfitions are off then start the game as you usually do and push the enemy AI back to 1 system or kill him off. Unlock bigger academies as soon as you can and then just sit back and wait for new heroes to pop up (every 10 turns on fast game speed). Took me ~320 turns to get the achievement.

yup thats about how I did it, this seed should work well for that achieve as well with your oponent already starting in a corner

Just a quick update, never got the events to trigger but it didn't matter. I sent my scout west to intercept the colony ship but I just colonized every other start system north and south and that gives a stupid fast expansion victory...

You all make it sound so easy that I doubt my own capabilities :)

I remember my first tries at this achievement where I rerolled the map for an hour until I got one which was in my favour and even tho I knew the system layout by the time my first colony ship reached the roadblock system (a priority else the AI would colonize into my space by turn 20) at turn 6 or so the AI already had wormhole travel unlocked. My own expansion rate was beyond terrible due to the heavy penalties and I routinely was still struggling to stabilize my empire when the AI would start to crush me.

Reading all the comments I am thinking I m just a bad player :)

Thank you :b1:

Following your advice I was able to get not only "Don't even think about it", but 6 other achievements as well.

For those who have asked - this works with Auriga.

nice, glad to see the seed still working
