Difference between "old galaxy" and "young galaxy"?
I've been in the options before starting a new game, and one of them is "Age of Galaxy".

I'm not into astronomy, but what's the difference about an old galaxy and a young galaxy? The level of FIDS?

Brief snippet from the wiki: "Age controls which types of stars are more likely, which in turn affects the probability of planet types. Younger galaxies tend to produce slightly more habitable planets but slightly fewer temples."

For more info, see: http://endlessspace.wikia.com/wiki/Galaxy_settings
(The manual also offers some useful information, though I usually prefer the wiki's more verbose info)

I've seen the chart in the wiki you sent me.

So, in other words, Younger galaxies has more planets with the most Food and older galaxies has more planets with the most Factory/Science. Right?

You have more and more recent play experience, so I trust you more than me to interpret the chart correctly. ;) (It's been ages since I put any time into this game, unfortunately.)

I think its more accurate to say that older galaxies have lower tier / more specialized planets (and asteroids) than younger galaxies. Tier 1 planets are still spectacular production all around - and are more common in younger galaxies.

Given a choice between a methane giant vs a jungle planet, I'd pick the jungle planet, 9 times out of 10.
