No it doesn't make a whole ton of sense. But the fact stands, if you don't have ES already, get the Gold edition. It has the most bang for your buck gameplay wise.
Basicly the question is if you want to buy the base game or a bundle that incudes the expansion. My vote goes for the expansion since it's much cheaper to buy it in a bundle as oppose to only buying the expansion on it's own.
This is what I was trying to ask, does anyone know?
Emperor Edition comes with the DLC as well. So it makes no sense to pay an extra dollar. So far the only difference I see between the two is the icon graphic in your library.

Are you sure you didn't purchase the Gold edition or the Disharmony expansion separately? You can check which edition you purchased exactly in your Steam account settings.
I bought the Emperor Edition.

Though in account settings it says Endless Space + Disharmony.
