I seem to have skipped part of the game.

So in the second Age (the space one), I somehow found myself skipping to the end instead of doing all the puzzles right. I tried using one of the slate symbols from another Age, and I think that ended up confusing the game into unlocking the end room of the Age. Is there some way I can get the slate back after solidifying it, so I can do it right?

Could you describe in more detail what happened, age and slate symbol? The slate should have transported back to one of the slate holders, which ever one it was last set to go to.

It was Todelmer. I was trying to get by the broken telescope cords, and I thought of using the heat symbol from the previous age to see if I could get the Bahro to burn them away or something. But the Bahro just took the slate away. Then later, after I figured out what I actually needed to do, I went back to get the slate when I needed it, but it wasn't there- instead there was a link to the last room of the age. So I figured the game misread the heat symbol as the symbol for the last room.

I am afraid after solidifying it the only thing you can do is go back to your last save before you did that, after it is solidified it does not let you redo it. Each age only uses its own tablet power and not ones from other ages so be sure to stick with that age's power and not another's.

Yeah, that makes sense. I was pretty sure it wasn't going to work, I just didn't think it'd end up skipping me to the end. But unless I missed some important clue for the end of the game, I think I'll just keep going, especially since in order to make flipping through the journal quicker I deleted a bunch of saves I made between one that I know was after I messed up and one that was BEFORE I EVEN DID THE FIRST AGE.

You can skip straight to the end of an age if you know the right symbol. Of course you miss out on most of the game.
