Look, this is really a visual novel with some choices in it. You can call it an adventure game if you want.

However, having RNG involved even if you pick the right choices is bad gameplay. I started playing on my own and I would choose the right decisions. Since I failed, I would choose different decisions. I died. I gave up and decided just to use the guide so I would know if my choices were correct.

Punishing a player for making correct decisions is poor design. I just lost a "battle" even though I made all the right choices. RNG is stupid for things like this. Just make it a time limit to choose if you want to make the game more difficult.
