Scrap Sight BP/Item?

I'm absolutely stuck trying to get better guns because I have no sight for a gun. Any suggestions on how to get the Scrap Sight or Red Dot?

weapon crates you obtain from underwater looting and (from my experience) lvl 3+ island raids. That's how I FINALLY got my first iron / red dot. Before I got those, I grinded coins to buy the 2x scope from the gun trader. My biggest hurdle was obtaining assault rifle mags, which I once again, FINALLY got one from a weapon crate drop. It's really all luck based and hoping RNG is on your side.

For anyone else having a hard time finding a sight, when you use the Recycler (built machine in base), you have a chance for a Sight, a Barrel, or a Receiver (might be and/or). Wish I knew I could have gotten a Scrap Sight off the PM and Mauser pistols long ago.
