Yes, it leaves the game running on a server 24 hours a day. When everyone disconnects, the game pauses. It lets many players join the world at different times.
Please lookup Valheim or Minecraft dedicated servers. If you're unsure what it is.

Yeah I know , but we've been brothers in arms since out UO pking days on siege, we usually just log in to whatever and play , we have our own single play stuff we play , but he has a pretty kick ass rig so stuff like this, 7d2d , ark , he just hosts it , besides , sometimes as we've found out the server software can be a pain . and then theres times we go a couple weeks just solo playing stuff. It's hard to explain . I see the reason people want dedicated for sure, but man that's a bit more netcode and game coding ,I'd really rather have that energy put into adding stuff into the game ya know.
