There are plenty of bugs. It's an alpha. An early alpha at that (v0.1.3). You might lose random items. You might lose your entire savegame. At any time.
Or you might not. I've played 25 hours and not encountered any bugs apart from jankiness regarding base building. For example, this evening I demolished some scrap metal foundations and replaced them with reinforced metal foundations. The game would only allow me to place the new pieces if I jumped between demolishing the old ones and placing the new ones. Some roof pieces wouldn't go on until I left the game and reloaded a couple of times.
But it's Steam EA. You're paying to take part in an informal testing program with no guarantees of anything. It's a gamble. Sunkenlands is reliable and well featured for an early alpha.
ps: the world map is always the same right? or random?
I really want to buy but at the same time don't want to play all night to have all my progression lost.
I have seen a few bugs, but not deal breakers . Just remember , if you want a Helicopter, build a land base as they have an issue to be lost in the ocean when restarting your game and the dev's are working on it.
Other than that, the gameplay was pretty smooth, no fps issues, gameplay difficulty could use a little balance but it's not too bad(enemies not being able to detect you when attacking them regardless of where you attack them I have had instances where I would be standing right in front of an enemy and they don't even notice me LOL or shoot my gun and miss and the enemy doesn't even react to the sound, enemy damage is a bit much with guns and, healing in this game is just bad...). It's early access(and I mean EARLY) so I'm not expecting a fully polished game.
The only bug that I experienced was the enemy glitching underground but, still able to shoot me and I forgot this one, my first death in game was because I got stuck on some stairs underwater and couldn't move so I drowned... Those are the only two bugs I experienced. Multiplayer might be different. I have watched people stream the game and frame rate was an issue, a lot of jittery movement, guns shooting more than once without you imputing any buttons, and other bugs that people mentioned in this forum(or in their discord). I might avoid multiplayer for now if you don't want the possibility of having to deal with that.
