I built a ladder to get up to the roof to see if a different angle would work. It didn't.
I found that it was often possible to place a roof piece where there already was a roof piece, which creates flickering interference between the pieces.
I tried placing floor pieces instead of roof pieces. Didn't work.
I had pillars where required, but then I placed pillars everywhere. Every corner of every foundation piece. Even the ones where the game had allowed me to place a roof piece. Didn't work.
I eventually got the roof up by quitting and reloading several times, each time trying to place the remaining roof pieces that the game wouldn't allow me to place. It eventually worked. I have no idea why.
You can demolish the pillars afterwards with no effect other than wasting some scrap iron (which is abundant, so that doesn't matter). I leave the ones in the walls just because I think it looks better.
That's a good idea. I prefer the shape of the roof sections for a roof, but they are full of holes and don't fit together well. Looks like I'll be rebuilding the roof again tomorrow :)
I want the wooden floor tiles for my floor, but I haven't found the blueprint. I saw them in someone's base in a video on Youtube and thought they looked much better for a floor than the European tiles did.
this worked for me!
They only sell a handful of blueprints, which never change. You will never be able to buy any flooring blueprint other than the European tiles one.
Reinforced floor doesn't exist yet. No idea why it's not in with the other reinforced building pieces, but it isn't. There is no blueprint for it.
You can apply tiles to a scrap metal floor, but it only covers the top surface so it's not good if you're using floor pieces as a roof. Better than nothing (it covers the holes), but not good.
As well as that, the only guaranteed floor tile blueprint is the European style one from the trader. Which looks like coarse pottery tiles. I think it looks OK on a roof, but that's all.
Agreed. I think most people use floor pieces for roofs instead of the roof pieces.
