Mysterious uncharted island

While exploring, I discovered a large island not marked on the map. No sign of enemies. I could build on it (like initial Castaway Island), but only found trees and bushes to harvest, Found no other resources. Maybe devs are planning to use it in a future update?

I've been wondering about that place. It's the only island that isn't covered with scrap iron squalor. It's a pity that it's so far off the beaten track and has no resources. Yet, it was a breath of fresh air after all of the copy/paste on the other islands.

I marked it as forest island on my map. Best i can figure is the devs gave us a spot to farm the one most important resource. WOOD. Farm it up guys. It takes about 7 in game days for trees to respawn. And remember, you can sell wood at the trader for coins at two stacks per.

Great place for an end game base imo, love how big it is and loads of trees. Was thinking about building there.

i found it as well while exploring the map great tree resource and havent tried to build there yet but have definitely thought about it

I also thought about moving the base there.
Is there a problem with enemies appearing "inside" all over the island?
Or will they just swim in normally?

Isn't that right off near the edge of the map?
Personally I prefer to build in a more central location.

Lets just imagine it is for future content. If you build on it and they modify the island in future content your base is probably stuffed and quite possibly your entire save file. You wanna take that chance?
I wouldn't touch that thing with a barge pole.
