Public beta 0.5.40: menus broken, unplayable

In the last few minutes there has been a patch for the public beta that identifies itself as v0.5.40.

Unfortunately, it's basically unplayable. The in-game menus (the ones you get when you press <Tab>, like "Build" or "Missions" no longer work correctly.

Pressing <B> does nothing. Pressing <Tab> and clicking the "Build" menu tag opens the "Missions" menu the first time you do it, then nothing after that. In other words, it appears to be impossible to build anything in this beta.

Thinking this might be related to the problem in previous betas where keys stopped working, I tried resetting my key bindings to default, but that did not change the problem.

The one thing I *did* notice other than building being broken was that the halloween stuff at the trading post has gone.

This one is so game-breaking I assume the devs will drop everything to fix it and there will be another patch (0.5.41?) out very soon.

I'm seeing the same thing in 0.5.40 (0.5.30 works fine).

Agreed works fine for our game as well.

0.5.40 works fine for me as the host of the game.

The only strange thing is when you open the map the armour, light, and night vision goggle icons are at the bottom of the screen.

edit: one bug related to crafting multiple items at once will report in proper area of forum

As I just noted in another thread, all files verify correctly. If I start a new world with a new character, the problem does not happen.

If you have the ingredients for one dish in the kitchen, you can make as many dishes as you like.

I have key problems when I have my flight stick, throttle and rudder pedals turned on. I have to turn them off using an externally powered USB bank. Turning them off fixed my keyboard issues.

I also experience this with the build menu. You cannot get into the menu. The other menus work just well.

Hi. Having similar issues. I cannot access the build menu. Hitting "B" does nothing. I can enter the inventory menu via "TAB," and I can access a "build" button at the top of the screen from there, but when I click that it opens the Survival Guide instead.

same issue here. First time clicking build, it opened the missions menu. Now, clicking build does nothing, B does nothing. There is no way to get the build menu up. the tab menu opens just fine.
Just noticed, when I exit out to the main menu, the top of the water has no texture to it. When I first logged in it did, but going into the game, coming back out and going to the main menu, its just grey

for those who have a menu opening issue, please send us your save files to [e-mail] and we will look into it;

To find save files:
1. Press Windows key + R
2. In the window that pops up enter "%localappdata%low" and click ok
3. There will be Vector3 Studio and the saves is the entire Sunkenland folder
