Low fps
I like playing my games on low preset. Maximum down for maximum performance. I have ryzen 5 1600 six core with 3.2ghz speed, 8 gb ddr4 and nvidia gtx 1650. Decent build. On older versions, normal fps 100. Beta 0.5 thingy, about 20-40 fps terrible. Please fix optimization for regular pc users.

You have met the dreaded optimization zone, large teams have dedicated crews for specifics, optimization, animation, modeling, maps, combat. Games can be and often are complex, its a beta without any optimization. I run as low res and setting as possible because I'm saving for video card and run the integrated graphics so I feel ya.

hi all, yeah, i have to say the same for FPS drop.. though, my FPS didn't just drop... they TANKED, real bad...
my system is a bit older, but things were running just fine...

i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz -- 32 gig ram -- Nvidia GTX 1050

really just can't play anymore as frame rate is 10-14 from 50 - 60 FPS...

Hope this gets worked out... but thanks to the Devs for an awesome game!!!

also, would, (or could) a 'new game start" fix the fps drop?

For me, after the hotfix (of the 3rd, IIRC) the previously smooth frames became jittery with microstutters every few seconds. Then, at night, between 1920 and 0410, the time speeds up to make the night shorter, and when this happens the game stutters with each tick of the clock, like a slideshow. At 0411, it goes back to smooth frames with microstutters every few seconds.

BUT! Yesterday morning, during the night (in game), I was waiting for 0411 to arrive (because for some reason I can't sleep in my bed anymore, it always says "it's not bedtime," no matter what time I check it) and watching the northern lights stutter across the sky--when they smoothed out. I moused around--smooth, no stutters. The ocean undulated smoothly without interruption. Yes! The stutters were gone! I went to the car parked on Castaway Island and scavenged it for steel--for the billionth time, because it had always instantly respawned over and over and over. This time--it went away and stayed away. Same with all the rest of the loot that previously had instantly respawned--it now wasn't doing that. So for the day I cruised the smooth seas stutter free, wandering joyously around Dreadville, scavenging things that didn't instantly respawn, enjoying the same smooth-as-glass framerate experience I had enjoyed before the hotfix.

But! That lasted about an hour. Suddenly, boom, just like that, the night slideshow began. So I checked for the car on Castaway Island--it was back. Scavenged it, and it instantly respawned, over and over. So, there is a relationship between the occurrence of instant-respawning and the stuttering gameplay. I'm not saying one causes the other, just that they are either absent together or present together. But that suggests it's a game issue and not a computer issue, for why would my computer cause the instant loot respawning that so many others have noted?

Since the stuttering went away for an hour, that means it *can* go away/be fixed, and expect it will for good eventually. Meanwhile, I love the game enough to play it even with the stutters, PITA it can sometimes be in certain situations.

yep, i am seeing the same things in my game too, though all the time, not at different times... and yeah, the 'it's not bedtime' thing is crazy....
i was wondering if the 'respawn' issue is actually constantly cycling over and over in the game code, thus leading to an extra 'math' load for ANY system..... just a thought :-)

About the "not bedtime" issue, when the game stopped stuttering for an hour and the insta-respawn stopped, as I mentioned above, the "it's not bedtime" issue also went away.

Okay, after re-reading various posts and reflecting on my experience, I increased the number of days for respawn from 1 to 2. Boom! All stutters are gone, game runs quick and smooth, no lag of any sort, even at night. Also, I'm able to sleep in the bed again.
