This is from a post I made on Feb 8, 2024.: Advanced Gun Bench can be tricky at first. Took Me about 5 in-game days to figure it out. Broken weapons can be fed into the recycler/grinder portion of the bench (the left side, which does require electricity) and it spits out 'mostly' blueprints for weapon parts. You WILL see a LOT of repeats. Plus an occasional actual weapon part. This seemed strange at first until you realise that the Gun Assembly section of the Bench (the right side) allows you to select any weapon you would consider making, and if you have read the blueprint for all the parts of that weapon, then you CAN craft the parts using the listed 'required materials'. Once all the parts (barrel, receiver, stock, sight, magazine) are in your inventory, then its simple to then select to mount them. and the final step is to then click...assemble. Voila, you then get a completed gun. If you want one of the more powerful weapons, and the recycler isn't spitting out blueprints for those parts, then take all of those extra/duplicate gun blueprints over to Dreadville. The machine there will give you 'credit' for every blueprint you feed it. when you have 200 credits showing on screen, press to get a 'new' blueprint. "New" being a higher tier blueprint that you "probably" didn't have. ( When I used the machine at Dreadville, I received 3 never before seen blueprints but two that I had read previously) So its not a full guarantee of getting what you want, but its a nice little add-on to the gameplay dynamic. PLUS: You can take Gun Parts and Modern Parts to the new 3-D Printer at the Traders location, it will "print" you a blueprint of what might be a higher tier gun schema, the advantage to using that 3D Printer is that you know in advance what you are paying for. Hope this helps.

Weapons you fully assemble yourself can be put into the large recycler. You will get all parts back. Then you can reassemble with new higher tier parts at the weapons bench.
