Fishing bait
Unless I am missing something there needs to be more ways to get the worms. I read that you get them from strawberry and mushroom plants but that only happens randomly. In the few hours I have played today I have picked up 1 worm from all the times I picked those 2 plants on castaway island. Even if the plants had a 100% drop rate it still wouldn't be enough worms for those of us who like to fish. I thought growing strawberries might be the answer but I didn't get any worms from the ones I grew.

The game recently had an update that reworked the game. Fish nets used to require no fishing bait and was a passive food generator so fishing wasn't too worthwhile. With the rework i don't think they had fully thought out how much more important worms would become.

Unfortunatly after the update, you need worms in the fishing net too, only the big net found in the flooted city needs no worms.
But you can catch a lot of crabs now on the starter island.

The big fishnet doesn`t require any bait to use it.

I hadn't found it yet so good to know. I don't mind the use of worms for fishnets as it makes sense, but as cazz stated it would be nice for a more dedicated way to get worms.

There should be a worm bin.
Grow food, like same strawberries, get strawberries AND plant debris/vegetable scraps.
Build a box, fill it with those debris/scraps(altho general non-canned food should be acceptable as well) and it would slowly generate worms, gradually consuming those scraps.
I would even go further and allow enemy bodies to be peaceable in those bins. Altho that would come with severe progressive penalties, so should be built far away.
I would also add shovel and require dirt for building of some building(and occasional "refueling") like same planters. Digging up dirt would very rarely generate worms as well. Ground around those parts would not be particularly suitable for large population of worms, too much moisture. But building dedicated worm farm could generate a decent flow of worms for fishing.
Shovel also could be used to dig up stashes, coordinates you could get from corpses. Would make game more dynamic, unpredictable and interesting.

i can't even build fishnets, is it gone or something? Also, if fishnet need worms than i will really suggest we have a item to grow worms, growing worms is very common as we need worms to soften the soil and for fishing purposes. i agree we with this idea as we can reallly grow worms ....

I think having worms should have a random chance from chopping wood and even from picking up branches off ground spawn. But a worm bin and mushroom bin both sound good to me.
