You always can go back to a older version.
Then old savegame stays valid

so also my friends that play co-op must change to older format i,ll wait for release.. i can wait soooooo long... been waiting for years on some games.. no big deal.. just had to restart my game 3 times now in as many days.. lol

In that vein, I'm wondering if this is a recurring theme every update (where savegames are broken)? If so, I will certainly not be playing anymore until it releases.

Will you people stop complaining that an early access game does what you would expect from an early access game...? This topic keeps popping up since the release of 0.2 and it's tiring.

You never played Empyrion Im guessing.

Exactly. I loved the Halloween ornaments. I'll play Starfield until they fix this goof up.

what do people not understand about early access games? what did you expect?

Amazing how spoiled and ignorant some of you are. This is EARLY ACCESS. If you can't handle playing an early access game then wait until it releases in a year or whatever. Just be excited for the updates and the chance to start fresh on a new and improved game.

If you are an entitled spoiled child, stop buying EARLY ACCESS titles. If you don't have the patience for restarts then you purchased the wrong category of game. The people that GENUINELY support early access titles already understand this.

The developer AND the game both say if you want to keep your current save just play the correct branch.

I don't mind starting again. I was well aware of this prospect when i started playing. The question is, why weren't you.

You were literally warned several times before even downloading the game... you are the only reason you are pissed off at this

hiding ♥♥♥♥ programming behind the guise of early access is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. you charge full game prices for this game. for me it's not even playable anymore. i go to load a game or start a server a translucent black window overlays my toon and nothing happens. everyone saying don't complain it's early access clearly wasn't around for the DayZ early days or hasn't played a lot of early access survival games, these games are a cash grab, the developers abandon them ALL THE TIME... or take decades and still don't release them from early access. Steam has to stop allowing people to charge for early access. why would ANY game ever NOT declare it's launch an early access it rids them of all liability and responsibility to create a decent game.

Bit confused because how would you know what the full price is going to be when it`s finished ? EA titles are always lower priced than the released version.

It's early access you daft donut. The whole point is you're buying a game with development in progress that is subject to changes, including major ones. Try reading the game info page before buying next time.

Reading all those answers, I feel a lot less alone.
*feels better man*

You also have to realize that they look for this kind of reaction, they want to see what people miss being there, what people want to see added or changed, while yes it is complaining, it still is feedback so long as there is nothing like threats towards a person/people/group/etc. This is the course of things, yes they can go back to a older version, but it also shapes the later iterations of future updates as well.

Edit: Also with the Beta, which is likely what they might be playing too, you cannot backtrack, so you really can't go back a version with it.
