cpu temps too high

after repeated spontaneous computer restarts and subsequent troubleshooting, I've concluded that this game is running my CPU way too hot . After removing an unnecessary bracket from the vicinity of my chiller I have stopped the spontaneous restarts but the CPU is up to a steady 100c in game. For comparison I get 46c@800MHz at idle before game, jumps to 69c@4700MHz on launch, jumps again to 99c@4600MHz in game and drops to 50c@4999MHz after exit. All of the numbers are taken from MSI monitoring software screenshots. The frequencies are of some concern as I am not intentionally overclocking my 3.6 GHz i9-9900k CPU according to my bios settings. Also of note and I forget where I saw it but this game spears to only be using 1 core of the 8+8.

In any case, I know all of the temps are too high. Sunkenland has just pushed the problem to breaking point. The general over temp may just be a bad thermal compound application but new Cooler is on order anyway as I don't want to pull the cooler twice.

I am running a 3060 12gb with dual fans and temps never breach 70C with graphics setting at max (1920x1080) while the game is running. You could try reducing the resolution as it may not be optimized yet for larger resolutions.

Same, I am running a 4070 at max graphics settings and my temps rarely go over 70c. At my HUGE base I get 72c and 120fps.

Maybe you need new thermal paste? but still tweak your settings so lower the resolution (I run 1920x1080) as I believe 4K is not optimised for this game, theres also vsync I would recommend turning this on as I know some games like to spike to 100% if its off such as dying light or some early access games
