Yeah, This one has been a big issue for us. I don't know how hard it is to code the option to move stuff, but a simple temporary fix would be to just give us 100% of the resources back when we demolish stuff. I really don't know why devs always nerf that kind of thing in survival/crafting games because the current resource return rate seems to be 50%. Makes no sense.
And dont destroy deco with The Hammer
The way it's done at the moment is to craft a packing box, put it on your hotbar and wield it. You can then use it as a tool to transfer the placed item into your inventory. Then you can place it somewhere else. It's not as good as being able to move a placed item in the usual way, but it's much better than nothing.
Stairs should exist without a blueprint, but they're not very good yet. They don't snap to anything and they don't change length. So it's a lot of bother to get them aligned properly and you can only do so for a single height, the height of one wall piece. Although it does allow for weirdly creative building. Josh from the "Let's Game It Out" Youtube channel had a lot of fun with them. But for actual usefulness, I wouldn't bother with the stairs as they are. Ladders are much more useful.
An "unstick me" button is intended for the next update, whenever that happens. As far as I know, there isn't a way currently. Maybe trying to jiggle free by trying to move while switching between crouch and standing might work.
