You need to build a repair hammer, then use that to destroy the items (currently there's no way to pick up a placed object, destroying it is the repair hammer only option.)

I love the game. However, having to destroy the things I place is turning me off big time. The building aspect of any survival game is paramount to the game being enjoyable for me. Having to hack at metal walls 35 times with a pick ax is very much not enjoyable. In addition, not being able to simple click on an ornamental item I placed, to pick it back up and replace it somewhere else, is not cool when we want to decorate. You have given us a fantastic plethora of decorative items, please give us the ability to place an item, say nah, don't like it there, and simply move it somewhere else. Lastly, painting and wallpaper, please give us the ability to wallpaper over wallpaper that has been applied. I now have a room that is half one wallpaper and half another, which was not intentional. In order to correct it, I would have to destroy half the walls in my completed and furnished room just to correct the accidentally placed wallpaper. let's see 8 metal walls, Times 30 some odd strikes from my pick ax would take like 20 minutes just to correct the misplaced wallpaper. 1. I do hope you consider allowing for the pick up and moving of objects placed. 2. the simple applying of new wallpaper over old. 3. And the simple ability to click on structure components and just clicking remove. Presently the build process is clumsy and difficult. This is said as a gamer who enjoys building. I wish to reiterate, that I love the game and I look forward to seeing updates and new additions, and hopefully some correction to some of the overly complicated build elements. Please note this is intended as constructive feedback and I do hope you find it valuable. Keep up the good work!

Use the hammer to dismantle walls and floors. Use the packing box to pick up crafting stations, ornaments etc, when used it puts the item back in your inventory so you can place it somewhere else at no additional cost in resources.
