The main focus is most of the models and icons are exact carbon copies of those in Rust. The ui is exactly the same as the ui in Rust. Even the combat looks just like Rust combat.

Now the main thing to take away here; before some fanboy who has never played this game absolutely explodes a blood vessel; is that isn't to say that the game can't be good. Though lets not pretend that this game isn't Rust in the water.
The main problem this game will have is trying to pull players from Rust, because why would any Rust players leave the game they are invested in for the same game but in the water?

ok let me explain a few things that apperently people don't understand about steam games.. steam offers the framework to make a game, they off assets for most everything you want to use to make the game, IE: game mechanics,weapons, characters , audio files for almost every interaction you can think of , of course this is gonna look like rust, they're both made on the same engine and prefab assests. THE DIFFERENCE IS how the dev manipulates the assests to make the game. NOW , most of these assets from my understanding have to be paid for , kind of like a usage liscense if you will , depending on how much the devs were willing to spend on these assets will define what THIS game looks and feels like. SO there's gonna be stuff that reminds people of rust, 7d2d , and yes raft.. almost every single sandbox / builder / survival game on steam are built off of the exact same framework .

Ok, but why would anyone who is invested in Rust, leave Rust, for this game?
Try to be unique. This is where the game will suffer.

who cares, that shouldn't really be your concern, you're not the developer

"Who cares" is such a nihilist approach to everything. You can say it about literally anything and it's such an anti-point.
I mean I can just flip right around back at you and say "Why do you care? You have no stake in the subject. Why are you concerned about what I should be concerned with?"
There isn't an answer other than people just want to talk and express their opinions, it's what makes us human. Otherwise, just go back to r9k with the other nihilists who don't understand that.

Rust = PvP, Hackers/Cheaters, Trolls/A-holes
Sunkenland = SP/Co-op PvE

Rust players should stay in Rust where they belong.
Thanks for the heads up - i almost bought it lol
We can add swimming to rust - it be alot easier lol

Are you trying to explain unreal engine or unity? Afaik, all steam does is provide a connection to the storefront to buy a game, distribution network for people to download your game, and a few frameworks for netcode (multiplayer, anti-cheat, etc). Steam doesn't provide game engines or assets, that's what unity/unreal does.

The point is though that most legitimate game companies do not use free store assets, but develop those assets on their own, including rust, 7d2d, and every other game you mentioned. You are trying to describe asset flips (which this game does look like an asset flip)

Just because a game uses a game engine (what you call a framework) such as unity or unreal does not mean they use any of the pre-built assets either. 7d2d uses unity, but all of the assets, as well as how it builds the world, are entirely built in-house. To say that because a game uses a game engine that it will look like the rest is silly.

Theres already a bunch of underwater content.
Theres the underwater labs (large and small), 2 kinds of submarines, tugboat bases, and some servers have water base mods.

I agree with you a little, but valve's developer kit (closest thing they have to a framework this guy thinks he is describing) is called "steamworks" (https://partner.steamgames.com/), so calling steam just "a digital store front" is a bit disingenuous to say the least. There's more that is provided in steamworks than just a connection to their store. That said, he's still completely wrong about what steamworks provides a developer, as I outlined above, but him talking about steam's "framework" is still half accurate (it's a toolset not a framework). Calling it "valve's framework" (or toolset) isn't very accurate, because valve is more than just steam.

Rust is a PvP griefing simulator.

This is an (optionally) co-op PvE waterworld.

It's got very little in common with Rust, it's more like Raft but with base defence and combat against Pirates.

This is pretty funny and its amazing you don't see the flaw with your own post. Your main complaint is how it LOOKS while completely ignoring the gameplay, THEN you try to pre-bash "Fanboys" who will "Defend it without playing it" LOL

Do you see the issue here? Your post indicates you haven't played it, you're making a sweeping judgement and THEN you say "Don't post if you haven't played it". Wow, just wow to the level of dense arrogance on display there.

Its funny how there's always so many of you on every EA game who focus purely on the visual assets and don't judge by how the game actually plays.

Are we not going to say anything about how the desktop icon is literally a low-res image of dome in Rust?
