Hi
I'm not completely sure I understand the problem. A container keeps losing loot—what container are you referring to, and in what way does the loot disappear? Are you opening a chest and seeing loot the first time, but then it's gone when you open it again? Or does it have no loot from the start? Could you clarify exactly what you're experiencing? That would help me a lot.
When playing in Etyrial sometimes container do not have loot anymore. Dead ennemies are unaffected. But ALL container are empty (nothing in and no yellow highlighting when casting eye of the sky).
For exemple i have a save at 8:02 pm when a chest has item. I load that save the chest still has item. I dont empty or select the chest at all.
I do something (not sure if it triggers only after a fight).
I save again around 8:06. I check the chest again. Its not empty. BUT now i load the game and the chest is empty.
And every other container in Etyrial is. Weirdly only the skeletton on an altar after the minotaur fight in unaffected.
It looks like the bug someone talk about around november 2023. But it must not be this one since you corrected it.
Edit - Ha and when the bug triggers sometimes all container are "clickable again" (Yellow with EOTS and little chest icon when overing) but are empty all the same. When i say all i mean even those i emptied before.
For now i only saw it in Etyrial
Thanks. I'll try to take a look and see what I can find. If it's not too much trouble, you can send me your save file where the bug occurs to AQuestThatBecameLegend@gmail.com — that would help me understand what might have happened.
This issue stems from a structural change made in the design at some point during development. Apparently, I overlooked that it had not been fully corrected in Etyrial. In practice, this means that if you save/load a game while you’re in the second part of the area, the system can’t access all of the loot objects—so it loses their data, which causes the bug you’re experiencing.
I guess most loot in the second area arent affected (if at all) and its mostly a concern if you didnt loot everything in the first area before reaching the second. Which happened to me in the worst form possible since i came from the north village and went diretcly to the dirt temple at random the first time this bug happened to me.
Anyway a many thanks. I know a workaround now without needing an update and i can now continue to play with peace of mind.
Tell me if you have any place where i can financially support you. I got the game from a friend who knows i like blobber and at this point im feeling like im robbing you.
No problem, and thank you for bringing this to my attention so it can be corrected. Thanks, it’s not necessary, but if you enjoy the game and would like to leave a review at some point, I would, of course, be very grateful.
