Error: unable to find some essential data!

Anyone else getting this error? My Football Manager 2013 has been fine until I logged on earlier and now I can't log on :( Please someone HELP!

Have you tried reinstalling? You running on Mac or PC? If on PC, do you have any kind of anti-virus installed? If so, what type?

I have this error sincei bought the game a few days. Im running on Windows 7, PC, and ESET NOD Antivirus 4. I have installed and reinstalled the game many times. Ive been through every discussion and troubleshoot problem with Steam and nothing has helped. PLEASE HELP brocky....

Ive also reinstalled the game with no antivirus installed, ive verfied the files, ive reinstalled DX within FM/steam folder, all to no avail, im pulling my hair out now after having the game for over a week Brocky....

I'd suggest uninstalling NOD and trying again as it may be the anti-virus stopping a successful download of all the files so the game can install correctly. Once you've uninstalling re-download the game. I'd also suggest reading this post to make sure you remain protected if you uninstalling NOD - http://www.sigames.com/faq/fm13.php?id=56

I had the same problem and the following solution worked for me: Create a new user account through control panel. Create it as Administrator. Change user and load game from there. Good luck. Btw I have windows 7.
