Easy Anti-Cheat issues (+ Steam Deck / Linux)
We've run into a problem after updating to a newer version of Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), where Steam Deck (and likely Linux users) cannot play the game.

We apologize for this, as it's something we fully did not expect to break by updating, and we're looking into it now.

If you're having issues playing the game because of EAC, please post them here so we can more understand how many people are affected

I can not start the game on steam deck because of anti cheat.

Well, at least you know about it. I can confirm this is happening on non deck linux.

Hey folks, we're putting out a hotfix hopefully tomorrow that will fix this issue with not being able to play at all.

Once it's fixed you'll still have the issue with getting kicked back to the menu upon matchmaking for the first time, but the second time and onwards will be fine. This is a deep issue with EAC that we're having a hard time addressing. But at least you'll be able to play again

Do you get an error? If so, what is it?

If you get kicked from the first game:
If you still get kicked to the menu and see an error pop up, just matchmake again and things should work fine after that.

It's not fixed (for everyone at least). Error description: Game doesn't even start. "Error Code: 30005".
Apparently the Anti-Cheat would require you to turn off the Windows Core integrity settings. Not really an option. I'd rather not play the game than turn off random Windows security features.

Can you please try the latest update? This error has been fixed for some users

Hey plajuck, I'm guessing you uses Windows 11 as well?
There was an update for it which broke easy anti-cheat for some people

Yes, win11. But what can be done with it? Will there be some fix for EAC or for the game, or maybe we are expecting win11 updates to come later?

Also: Fortnite, that uses easy anti-cheat too is still working. So it's strange that only this game is affected

Yeah, I mean Epic own Easy Anti-Cheat so I'm not surprised their game works fine as they've possibly fixed it internally. We've already reached out to Epic and in general are exploring any avenues available, hopefully we can get it figured out ASAP. Sorry for the wait

I ran into this same type of error. Already uninstalled. Maybe I'll check out the game later when this is fixed.

Yesterday I ran the game, but today I get a little popup saying "Fatal error!" and an OK button. Is this related to EAC? Or something else.
I'm on Zorin OS (essentially Ubuntu).
