More toxic will be servers dominated by teams of elite players. Not only benefiting from vastly more experience in a game with a high skill ceiling, but also access to private voice chat with their team mates.
It's already an issue, and will only get worse as the population of dedicated players grows.
Built-in voice chat, more sophisticated matchmaking, offline tutorials/training levels, I hope they're all on the roadmap to help new players not bounce off the game's learning curve.
Y'all devs ever miss the days when nobody cared about being called bad names online and either just replied in kind or ignored it entirely? People actually talked more often in games, communities were much closer knit, people made friends, had epic arguments that lasted for hours and wound up becoming legendary pieces of toxic history.
End of the day everyone got on with their lives or just muted someone they didn't like. No controversy. No X posts about how the devs need to do more to clean up the community. No having "community managers" running around trying to put out PR fires while you sit in the back and hope they themselves don't say something dumb and make one worse.
Nowadays its just one more thing developers have to lose sleep over.
Please tell me it's going to be a complete redo of the mostly useless emotes now. Well, except 1-1. That one is always useful.
But 3-1 which is "Mob on me boys" is currently useless as nobody on my team likely has any idea where I am. So move that to 1-2, and then add a compass marker of my name, and maybe a HUD display for my team on the screen as well.
And mostest importantestly, an easy to access way to mute spammers.
Gameplay is hold firebutton thats above average, and then you can do some nice tricks but very few players use it.
There are bots. Play late when people aren't on and you'll have games that are mostly bots lol
It took me too long to realize why Nekbrekka was always playing. XD
