Required to signup before I can play?

Remove this. I was patient and decided to give this game a chance signing up, but it took me 30 minutes to actually sign up because either the site wouldn't load or it would tell me my login wasn't correct even when it was. Finally when I eventually got in, the splash screen telling me to sign up in game didn't even change it was just stuck there thinking I didn't link my account or anything even though I did. So yeah I'll just uninstall. Not going to spend another 30 minutes or potentially even more to get this game working.

I would highly recommend not even having 3rd party signups. I was going to give the demo a try till I realised this was the case and my interest dropped. Aside from that there is also the matter of longevity, preservation and also ease of use for customers (an extreme example but Sony account requirements before they were walked back with Helldivers 2 also Ubisoft games and services are notorious for going down randomly).

+1, I downloaded beta, saw that I need to link account, uninstalled. Nah, I don't feel the need to make 30 million accounts these days, you don't need my data, helldivers didn't need that data, no one needs my email and a rando password. If I pay you let me WAAAAAAAGH not fill out humy paperwork.

I don't like the fact that I have to register and link my steam account to a random, unknown 3rd party website. I've tried it for a run. It's still fun, but after that, I deleted my account, and I won't play the game in the future if it stays like this. Shame.

Damn it... I was just downloading the demo and was scrolling through here to see what the opinions were while I waited. Saw this and cancelled the demo download. I am also not interested in 3rd party stuff.

Downloaded last night, opened it up, saw an unskippable account creation page, Alt+F4ed and uninstalled. You can't just keep doing this sorta thing, dudes. Have me make a purely in-game profile? sure! Flash up a QR code and tell me to go to a webpage, link an account and what have you just to get to the main menu, and you've comprehensively lost me.

+1. At bare minimum, make the registration easily possible from WITHIN the game, without needing to log in via a web browser. Although I'd prefer no registration to begin with.

I just requested access, and figured I'd take a look in these forums before installing. Now I won't install, as I too can't be bothered with this nonsense.
Steam won. We, the consumer, accept that, as it's consumer friendly. Any other launchers or accounts are redundant. Unless I'm REALLY desperate, these shenanigans will continue to deter me. But if I ever do end up falling for these tricks, it'll likely come accompanied with a negative review, regardless of the quality of the game itself.

Agreed. 99% of other steam games I buy, launch & play. Can anyone explain what this other company is doing or why they are required to play the game?
