(cosmetics that are not time limited, either)
Wanted to clear that up ;)
Great news!
Ignore list.
Yeah, its a F2P game, the only thing you have to pay for are fancy bits that look good. All the vehicles, maps and everything that's needed to play the game, is free. so yeah, Its pay to get the silly flag. Also: the devs are active on the discord, their attitude to the players is friendly and pretty chill, as well as receptive.
Speed Freeks is Free to Play with a plethora of content/cosmetics to unlock for free whether through the free battle pass, or through challenges.
It's battle pass model is not time based, meaning you can take as long as you want to complete it. You can purchase a paid pass to get more cosmetics if you want, but it's completely optional, and again, with no time limit.
There is a store in the game because, obviously there is - it's free to play.
Pretty straight forward. There's not much grind, no pay to win, and a whole game for people to play for free, with a bunch of free cosmetics.
Do we need to make an account on a shaddy website and then let that website link on our steam accout and then steal all our steam data legally?
Also, do we need an epic account to play the game on steam because of how crossplay works?
As for gathering data, it's entirely optional. This post explains the Speed Freeks PROS account in detail, if you could have a look:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2078450/view/4241909599836357837
The issues is that the website will copy data from the browser cache and cookies, when you link it to steam it will save data from the steam account that is not related to the game itself.
While i understand why its done and that its great for developers its not great for players.
I mean come on, it even mentions that the pros website "shares" data with its partners.
After the data stealing scandal with Once Human, this might impact the player base here as well.
I really want to play the game but the red flags are as big as Mars in this case😬👍
Will the game always require this? At full release can we play just using steam?
thanks for the hype though XD lol
Looks like the Privacy Policy mentions that PROS only grabs your Steam ID. Pretty sure it would be unlawful to grab much else and share it. I can ask to get explicit info though.
Wasn't the Once Human issue was they were asking for government ID?
As for the red flags, I think they're pretty small, like ones you find on toothpicks ;)
A Speed Freeks PROS account will indeed be mandatory at launch, but we'll be monitoring the community closely regarding it. The account is pretty painless, honestly. After you take the couple minutes to create one (with optional telemetry gathering), it never asks you anything again. And if you sign up for the newsletter there's an awesome squig accessory reward
This was only in certain asian places, people complained about once human but the ToS generally didn't effect them lol. People complain to complain and bandwagon youtube videos, nothing new.
Notice once human still has a good player count lol.
