While the game is currently running circles in internal QA we are waiting for the last bits and pieces to fly in from the collaboration partners so those dialogs can find their way into editing and translations real soon.


Everything is coming together now and it looks like we are going to have a content-complete version of the game by the end of the month, missing mainly localized content (because ~150.000 words are a lot to translate). That version will then go into external QA for an additional pair of uncompromised eyes to find the bugs we're incapable of seeing with our tunnel vision. 👀


In the meantime our audio team is making a massive push to bring in music and sound effects with a special focus on the extraordinary parts of the game we managed to finance thanks to your generous support. Stay excited! We will reveal more about these in future updates when the time is right 🤐


Now that we have the general progress covered, let's take a closer look at some juicy details: Today we'd love to take a deep dive into what was made possible thanks to your extraordinary support on Kickstarter and after!

Of course, we won't spoil anything regarding the Story of Tavern Talk or some special pledges that will be included in the game like the Wanted Posters, Trinkets, or Andu Animations! 👀 So don't worry as you continue reading.

The new Tavern Talk title screen!
We have a new title screen! 🤩 Of course, this is still subject to change, but making our title screen a Dungeon Master screen seemed like the perfect match! And now the team needs one in real life 😭, but that's a discussion to have some other time! 😌

When opening the title screen, we get to the new menu screen! 🙀 Right now there are some placeholders, like the "Gentle Troll"-Troll (or is it an easter egg, who knows 🥚), but those will be replaced with Wanted Posters - yay! 🤠

And yes, every time you return to the game, there will be another randomly selected Wanted Poster waiting for you. One of them will be your own if you pledged for the Infamous Hero tier. Eventually, you'll be able to see them all on the in-game gallery screen. 🖼️


Let's talk about the new settings!

Thanks to some amazing feedback we've received on the demo and in our Discord, we worked away on the font size of the dialog bubbles within the game! As you can see you can now adjust the font size and have a text example show off the change right beneath it. ⬇️

That way you won't bump into any surprises when returning to the game. Also, you can now choose to turn the text animation off, making the text appear instantaneously.

Speaking of things appearing fast, let's talk about text speed! ⛷️

A slider lets you gradually adjust text speed adjusting it perfectly to your personal reading speed! That way you can customize how fast your Patrons talk to you. So, if you'd like to tune down speed to up the cozy feel ... you're welcome! Or if you want to make it faster, because you are on your 111th playthrough, we've got you covered! 👍

But the settings and screens are not the only things that have changed. 👀


The new Tavern background
Can you spot the differences? And more importantly, can you spot all the easter eggs we have already hidden in this screenshot? 👁️

With the new Trinkets being added to the game and the cool in-game camera zooms (remember that stretch goal from the campaign?), some things had to be rearranged in the Tavern. 🧹

But we also added and polished more details in the background, to give the Wayfarer's Inn a more lifed-in feel! You know what they say, the cozier, the better! 💕
