No FPP combat:( Come on devs... PLEASE consider it
Maybe an option, like in Bethesda or Rockstar games!
There are already so many TPP shooters/melee games, please don't take away the fantastic immersion you've achived with first game by using first person perspective.

I know you said you can roam around in first person but pretty please... Make it so combat, especially gunplay, can be from FPP as well!

I'll try looking at the kickstarter page again, but the last I heard about it it's what Sadocommando posted, and afaik it was going to be a 'hard' requirement. Meaning it's a forced event because that's what they developed the weapons around.

I think you should check the dates and read my post that is pinned at the top of this thread. My statement is binding. It will be possible to complete the entire game in FPP. We even already have the first FPP combat prototypes.

Check the Kickstarter video. Toward the end, I explain in detail (I’m the Game Director) why FPP involves a lot of additional work, and you can also see some footage showing exactly what that work entails. Many things are created differently when viewed up close versus from a distance - for example, animations need to have a different dynamic, reveal the weapon more, and (most importantly!) not clip into the player’s camera.

In FPP, many details are more visible, so models need to be more detailed, and effects (like muzzle flashes) have to be completely redone and behave differently in the environment. The HUD has to be entirely redesigned because, by definition, it clashes more in FPP than in TPP, and if it’s too heavy, it disrupts immersion. And, of course, every single functional test (every mission, every enemy, every boss) will need to be performed twice - once in FPP and once in TPP.
