Many people have been reporting a horrible bug to Ubisoft for a long time now. At random times your saved game data can get corrupted and Rayman gets stuck in the map screen. Your only option is to start a new game. Only to have your new saved game data get corrupted as well. This happened to me at least twice. I've never had any other game or app on this PC have corrupted save issues... yet when I contacted Ubisoft's "support" center, they tried to brush it off as though their save curruption bug is some how the fault of myself and everyone else falling victim to it. They seem to have no intention to fix the bug or to offer refunds to those of us with an UNPLAYABLE game.

What a shame because the game itself is a masterpeice. Brilliant gameplay, visuals, music etc etc. I love the game itself, but the PC port is dangerously broken and i'm extremely angry with Ubisoft for not having the integrity to stand behind their product.

World 3 would literally take you only an hour to get too, just replay them. What a bunch of slackers.

Thanks for your helpful suggestion, but that's what I did back in April. Only to have it happen again at a much later point in the game. I spent a lot less time searching for secrets and also stopped bothering replaying the levels on purpose and trying collect the lums that were missed after experiencing this game breaking bug.

By the way, I always made sure to exit the game properly but you can't exactly help it when the game crashes, can you? Though the second time the corruption happened sans crash and exiting cautiously. But if you think all of us here are clearly doing something wrong and the game isn't buggy, don't bother making backups and see where that gets you. Some people do get lucky and never get hit with it, a few even posted in this thread before you. I'm sure you'll be one of the lucky ones!

both times I experienced this bug was in a continuous play session from a clean start, load game, start a new game, play the first 3 or 4 levels then it broke itself directly after finishing a level, there was no exiting involved

Until people start listing their specs, we'll never really get a clue as to what causes this pain in the ass glitch.

As said before, if you value your gametime back up your stuff; easy.
You'd have to do it anyway if you play on more than one machine -> no cloudsave. >:(

Well, ♥♥♥♥. I just got hit with this bug after beating the 2nd level in the FINAL WORLD!!! I had completed 7 of the treasure chases, about 20 hours of gametime lost. Then I find this thread. Arrghh!!! This is unacceptable, and I'm not starting over because this was actually the second time playing through this game. (1st was on xbox when the game came out) This game is sublime, I can't believe Ubi hasn't fixed this. Does anyone know if Rayman Legends has this problem? I was thinking of buying that, but wanted to complete Origins first and well... yeah. :-(

This is odd I've played through the whole game like 5 times and I've never encountered this bug, I wonder if this only effects those with high end hardware as it plays perfectly on my crappy pc.

all was fine with this game but i didn t played it for a long time...now i thought lets change the resolution from 2880x1620 to 3840x2160...bad idea because the game crashed and the funny thing is i am not able to start it again -.- really lame that there is no ini/config file to change back to another resolution...deleted...ubishhhhhhh sucks

I had this problem once time, in a mid PC, in a high-end PC I had no problem :)

I completed the first 5 worlds and some other stages. I'm locked in the map. No sounds. I can only hit Start button (xbox360 controller) and set options or quit game.
4-5 hours lost.
I can't believe this bug has not been fixed yet.

Update that after experiencing this problem after nearly 20 hours and just getting to the last stage, I had to just play the game all over again, this time backing up my save in another folder every time I beat a world. I finally beat the game, and while taking this precaution, it never happened to me this time with the same rig. Ugh. Great game, though. They need to fix that random ass problem.

Unofficial word is that Rayman: Legends is being offered on IRC or other P2P networks . . . as to compensate for the shortcomings of Origins.

Fight the power/it all comes back around full-circle, UBI.

Start backing up your saves now. You should be glad you saw this!

If you've made it this far you'll be good with regular backups and can fall back on a previous save if something random happens to corrupt it rather than replaying the game from the start.
