Instant crash on Mac

Earlier today I was playing the game and the mouse movement was very jerky. Then I rebooted my computer and now the game won’t launch at all! The menu bar disappears for a second and comes back… that’s all I can get the game to do now.

Last summer I was playing the game with no problem… no mouse problem, no startup problem.

Very sad

Still no fix. I've emailed support and haven't heard back. Can't believe it's been 6 months of this.

Ok this is kinda silly, but if you start the game binary (inside the app bundle) manually using sudo it won't crash on startup. The game is probably trying to do something that doesn't work with OSX security they added.


So you can start it from Terminal with a command like this:

sudo /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Wizorb/Wizorb.app/Contents/MacOS/Wizorb

Basically in the game info, go to local files. Then Browse local files. It will show where the game is in the Finder. If you drag that icon to the terminal it will give the path and then you add the Contents etc. part to the end. That is the real binary that runs the game inside the bundle.

I literally just bought this game today, played it once (I'm on a Mac), closed it, then came back later, and now it crashes on startup and I can't get it to work at all. Wonderful.

Yeah, I was having the same mouse problems on both my brand new and five year old Macs. Launched several times and it's just unplayable with the mouse. I read a thread here that said to try playing it in windowed mode, and that didn't fix my mouse at all. After closing it in windowed mode, the game just wouldn't launch again. Using Terminal to launch the executable in the app makes it LAUNCH, at least, but it doesn't fix my mouse issues. Shame everyone's great work on this game is soiled by the programmer's part :\ Looking at this discussion board, this is next to abandonware anyway. At least I have my memories of the game—sorry to anyone trying to play it on a Mac now.

I have the same problems. On top of that, full screen mode is out of place, with a huge black stripe on top of the screen. Paddle jerks instead of going smoothly from one side to the other, doesn't matter if I'm on a window or full screen mode. I was really looking forward replaying this but it's just too many problems. Tried to play for about 10 minutes and now I'm asking for a refund. Not worth it.

I'm not experiencing any crashes Never mind it's crashing now and I had a black stripe on the top of the screen in fullscreen mode.

This should have been fixed by now. If anyone is still experiencing problems on Mac, please let us know!
