Are the old demo island levels going to be included as bonus extras or perhaps DLC if they are no longer going to be part of the main game since they already exist?
If there weren't already plans to keep them available as bonus extras or DLC, could that be considered?
If we are going to have a house setting, are we going to still be an advanced civilization of spiders or are we going to become human house spiders?
Are there going to be humans?
If there are going to be humans, will there be a phobia setting to turn them into cute balls? :D
Will the local multiplayer play require one player to use mouse and keyboard and the other a controller?
Would it be possible to have online multiplayer at some time?
Is there modding help outside of Discord?
(Have I asked too many questions or is that an okay amount?)
I think that covers all of the questions I have that arose from the contents of the Announcement. Thank you for taking the time and effort to read them! ^_^
With the current direction we are aiming for the game we focus on rooms in the house as separate levels (kitchen, living room, bathroom, ...) which means we are getting rid of the islands. BUT, depending on what our community wants we are open to bringing back these levels or even exploring other ideas that might come up.
Our spiders are now leaning more toward "normal" house spiders, but you will still keep your incredible web-building and web-swinging skills.
Right now there are no plans to have actual humans in the level.
Local multiplayer will be played with multiple controllers, although one person could also play with the keyboard and mouse.
No plans for online multiplayer, because that's a whole different story when it comes to development.
We love seeing people being so invested in our game that they want to mod it. Right now we have some people in Discord, but we expected our modding community to grow and we would also like to make modding as easy as possible. Therefore, we will work closer with the modding community in the future to open up our game as much as needed to make it fun to mod.
I am glad that there weren't too many questions. ^_^
I am looking forward to running around a house as a spider, but also I think I will start feeling trapped after a short while being in an enclosed space. Knowing that I will be able to get to other areas of the house eases that feeling a bit, but I think having an open-feeling area that I can go to if I need to would be ideal. I realize that I am most likely an extreme edge case and I wouldn't expect things to be implemented just for my sake, but having the island levels as an escape or relaxation between house sessions would give me a good place to stop and breathe and would allow other players that love those levels to still enjoy them. ^_^ Though, if you/the other devs wanted to stay in the theme of the house, perhaps it could be possible to get on the outside of the house, especially the roof, through a crack or vent or window or door. Perhaps a yard or garden level would be nice and would fill that need, especially if there were some trees or things to climb and swing on/from and get on top of. ^D^
I do have a few requests/suggestions for things to have in/for the house other than the above which can be considered or not as is desired that I think would be fun and/or awesome in case you/others may be interested: Vents and air ducts are a fun thing to explore and could be a great way to get from one place or level to another. At least one room with a ceiling fan that players can turn on or is always on that players can ride like a merry-go-round or webbed onto for extra swingy fun. The ability to turn on faucets and fill sinks and tubs, maybe with floating things like rubber duckies or soap or toothbrushes or bowls or saucers that we can ride or jump across. ^w^
I very much like the web building and web swinging abilities so I am glad we will be keeping those. :D
Thank you for clarifications. :D
I would be interested in modding, but I don't really know at all how to do it and am not on Discord. xD Perhaps some Guides can be uploaded to Steam sometime by amicable people when they have the time. ^_^ <3
Thank you very much for responding to all of my questions! ^D^ I hope you have a nice day!
Tbh it's kinda lame you made several other large levels and released them only for a little bit, just to scrap them. You made NPCs and puzzles and scenery and everything. They are still good functional levels. You just wont let us play on them, for some reason.
