Why did they change which name is displayed?

Why did they change my display name from my Steam name to the auto generated one in their game? I can't see any benefit from this aside from forcing people to make an Embark account to change it. If anyone has a better reason please share, but I think this was an useless change that complicates a system that didn't have any flaws.

Its also like not a big deal at all really. I mean, you have a made up name in Steam... its not like they're disrespecting you by changing you real name.

Their next step is enforcing Secureboot on Win 11 machines. No secureboot enabled = game won't start.
They fail the cheating problem and now all they do is bully the playerbase with bad decision as secureboot, which is just another form of progressing the 19.84-comm.unist agenda. 99 % of people are clueless of the agenda which push TPM/Pluton/DRM/SecureBoot, and will talk technical/security stuff only, copied from wikipedia or MSM.
WIth TPM/SecureBoot/Pluton, the PC don't belong to the user anymore, but to the one owning the OS and the hardware manufacturers (and of course N.S.A. po.lice and similar agencies with their back.doors and surve.illance.

10 years from now it will be like in China, with mandatory digital ID, phone verification and stuff like that, only to play online video games.

its for if you want a different name in the finals. Rather than changing the name of your steam account. You can pick a username speciffically for the finals.
