Apparently there is a risk playing any game with EAC right now

A recent Apex Legends event was hacked. People were able to install hacks, aimbots, and more on player's rigs because of an exploit with EAC. EA had to issue a statement telling people to preform a clean OS reinstall.

If this is an EAC exploit then playing the Finals could put you at risk too. Be careful out there and try to play on a machine that's not your main machine, or move all personal information off of a machine that has EAC on it.

It's not really confirmed it's an exploit in EAC. It's more than likely an exploit in the Source engine itself rather than in Easy Anti-Cheat.

Some dude on X saying "It might be EAC!" isn't really confirmation of anything. If anything, it's more likely the same RCE exploits that were used against CS:GO players 2 years ago and that weren't patched in Apex's modified Source Engine.

Nobody has played Apex Legends more than once so this sounds like fake news.

It's NOT EAC. Players had mods installed that had a back door. They were exploited during the game after the hacker discovered their back door. I checked their video and its mod did have a back door the hacker gained access to.

It's a Source engine thing, it is perfectly fine to play The Finals as of now.

so according to you, it wasn't the anti cheat, but a mod someone had that someone else used to bypass the anticheat while infecting others

EAC themselves said they looked into it and confirmed it wasn't something on their side

keep in mind Apex is based off of the Source Engine, an engine from 2004 (technically even older) so yes not really any surprise that some major exploits remain.
