Thoughts on power shift
It's nice that they experiment with new game modes, but there are alot of issues with this new game mode, not just the obvious APS turrets.

Since the goal is to have your team on the moving platform, they basically reduced the potential creativity and utility that the map design is meant for. With power shift, you only run through the map to get to this slow moving platform which is the only thing that matters. While getting coins or cashboxes incentivize players to be moving around the map alot more and using the actual map to their advantage.

The destruction aspect of the game is also more reduced with this game mode since you no longer need or care to destroy buildings yourself, the platform does this by default and also does so in a totally pointless way on it's already set direction path.

Then all the awesome ways to constantly be on the move around the map is cut short with this snail ship trail as the main focus point. There is less incentive to move around as much. You either get on the platform or camp it from a distance.

This game mode also tend to go two ways, either one side dominates the other, or the platform will not get very far from it's starting point. There is simply less creative ways to play this game mode.

Clearly some players will like this game mode as expected. But I really doubt that the majority of the playerbase will play much of this in the longrun, since it takes away from so many of the already good and creative aspects of the game.

I think youre playing way to seriously, its not a ranked gamemode and nobody cares if they win or not. I play power shift mostly to snipe

My points stil stands. I base my opinion on all classes and abilities not just my own preferences here. You just admit to having a more passive play style. So I understand why this game mode might works exceptionally good for you personally if you just like to snipe, you will have a lot of target practice with this one.

As for my own liking, I don't take the actual game mode seriously since it simply is lacking alot of potential. I just made this post to point out what I see as obvious issues in my observation of it, that's all.

I am not saying that people shouldn't enjoy this game mode, there are obviously many who will, so go for it if that is you. I would however be comfortable to make a bet that the majority of the playerbase will not play this as much, based on issues that I have already pointed out. New game modes are good for to the game, but this simply ain't it unfortunately.

I prefer it this way. Way less aim assist and recoil mods in power shift.

In other words, a lot less movement in general basically. Imo this goes against the underlying design of the game tbh. Shooting fish in a barrel also comes to mind with this game mode.

remember the times when you had a single vault on a moving platform on that one map and whoever got to it basically turned it into a fortress with domeshields and sentries and you thought "yeah, an entire gamemode of this would be so fun"?

yeah me neither
