Ranked fame points removed

Yeah really curious. It seems awful. It was bad before. Didn't see many ways to make it worse but seems they managed to pull it off. I know they're trying but it's been a rocky start. Especially with cheaters. Player count reflects that

Yeah, their updated ranked system is a mess. Ended season 1 in plat 3, started season 2 in bronze 1 and I have no idea how many matches it even took me to rank up

We’ve given League ranking a major overhaul for Season 2!

The goal is to provide a much better quality experience when playing in the ranked tournament. You’ll get your starting rank based on your first eight rounds and from there, you’ll move up and down based on your performance. Contestants can expect to land between bronze and gold at first, and climb the ranks from there.

As you may know, we need a lot of people and time to test a system like this, so you should expect more tweaks and changes throughout the season, as we see it in action!

I'm sorry, but the new system is rubbish and not fair at all. I finished the previous session in diamond 3, now I am bronze 4 because I have had some fair pairings and there is no information on how much effort it will take me to get to diamond again.

The new system is real garbage and for me the experience is being disastrous.

Devs made the great decision of not telling people how many fame points they are gaining or losing, so fewer people will play ranked. The fame points earned must be different for the team members, etc., and they wanted to hide that. Hardly anyone played rank in season 1, so even fewer people will play the primary mode of the game now.

So, let's say you've played a few games of ranked and was wondering how long it would take to get to the next level. You now have no idea whether it'll take 1 week or 1 month, so you just don't bother playing ranked at all.

Yeaaaah, kinda makes me wonder if Embark has been followong and/or learning anything from other competitive (FPS) games that have tries this visual change for ranked, but every single one of them lost players because of that and were forced to change it back or figure out a way for players to actually track their progression. OW2 is the latest perfect example of that. If Embark has actually followed other games, I'm seriously amazed by how in their small minds they were able to come up with an idea that doing the same, always failed choisce will work this time 😂

yeah this change made me think its no point playing ranked cuz i cant even see my progression how will i know if im doing good or bad, and since i queue up solo i always get bronze temates and i meet dimonds how am i suppose to know better now if im in my right spot if i cant even know how to rank up

How should I track my progress?

Best way is to check your rank # in your region before and after a match. There isn't much way to know exactly what's happening, but you can check the 50th page of rank to see what their score is and see how close you are.
