Unreal Engine again , bad performance [Please stop using this crap engine].
Barely any developer knows how to optimize properly for a UE games these days as every developer plays a testbench on a RTX 3090 with the I9-10900K thinking this is the budget standard these days , frostbite from 2010 looks better and runs like a dream on a potato on a map 5x times the size.

But as always runs like crap again , i avoid Unreal Engine games like the plague start leasing damn engines from bigger companies or start learning unity as it seems only UE3 was decent in optimization since that barely uses 4 cores and does not support multicore performance but somehow every single game developed on UE3 back in the day runs like a dream but that was a decade ago , these days every single company uses AI to upscale from a potato resolution like 720P up to fit the screen in most scenarios but somehow it still runs bad.

I swear it's like you all really make models on a 8K screen drawing on z_brush and blender sitting at 1.2 million polygons a piece that could be a trashcan or a electricity cabinet for all i care with a UV texture that is spanning the next 8K screens.

Can we just take a minute that we have GPU's that are 12 times more powerfull and CPU's that are 12x times more powerfull compared to the year 2013 where we had games that looked better and runned like a dream on a old ass potato off a GPU with a map three times the size but now we have even RTX 3060"s barely keeping and hitting 60's on the lowest - medium settings at 1440P with a AI upscaler effictively scaling this from a potato pre 2008 resolution like 900P being upscaled to fit 1440P to keep you playing at a steady framerate.

Anyways , thanks for the playtest these 2 hours really showcased why i won't play this game ever again.

calling UE a crap engine hahaha, you for real?
my rig is worse than yours and it runs amazing

I have a RTX 3060 and run high to ultra settings, with ray-tracing on low at 2560 x 1080 resolution. I have my FPS capped at 100 because of my monitor and I stay pegged at 100 with no issues. Looks and plays great. My youngest son uses a GTX 1070 at 1080 resolution on medium and high settings and has his FPS capped at 75 and his game stays pegged also on that FPS with no issues. My older son has a older GTX 970 with a 1st gen I7 (Not Joking) and he is able to play with no issues, but I don't know what his settings are or his FPS. He has not complained about performance though. So IDK what issues a few people are having.

Maybe drivers or some software conflict? Check your device manager for issues and make sure all your drivers are updated including chipset and Ethernet drivers. Make sure to run a full scan using your AV and Malwarebytes. Unplug any unneeded USB devices. Again could be any software on your PC that does not like unreal engine so try to do a clean boot by disabling all unneeded software at start up and see if it helps.

The Game won't launch for me. It just stops working after running Easy Anti Cheat. I have a GTX 1050 ti so I don't expect to be getting amazing frames or anything, but if anyone knows how to make it run that would be appreciated.

The performance in this game is a joke. Not sure how people are defending it. I get 45-70 fps on RTX 3080, regardless of what settings I'm using. Like they legit make no difference.

my game is running fine on ultra. 120+

This isn't actually a performance post, because OP decided to insist on saying that they need to switch from the Unreal engine, which is a pretty wild suggestion.

I think more people will be commenting on that than the actual performance of the game, so a lot of people who do have performance issues may not be sounding off in this thread.

I have a 1650ti and the game runs like crap, the gpu is barely used. And I saw benchamarks with my build of the previous beta and the game ran fine. I guess its the GPU utilization and not the engine itself
Oh no you guys, the dev didn't plan than I would still be using my Commodore 64, how selfish.
Please you guys, side with my strawman argument about me not being willing to invest in non-decade-old hardware.
Come on you guys.

Guys anyone has a spare key please share?

Please. Unreal Engine is an excellent Engine IF properly used. Stop this nonsense.

i7-11700k + GTX 1070 here, 70-80fps on 1440p medium/high, runs like a dream and doesn't look bad :-)

The engine isn't the problem, lack of optimization is.
diesoon Jun 18, 2023 @ 5:36pm
You're right, 90% of unreal engine 4 games stutter for me. The ones that work very well are Ghostwire Tokyo, Sea Of Thieves, Tiny Tina Wonderland and Deep Rock Galactic. It's not the engine, it's the devs. They almost never fix it.
