You'll likely find yourself in the minority on that one. Any long than 2 or 3 minutes and the average player likely will give up on ranked and go queue for unranked where they get a game in 30 seconds.
It's an impossible balancing act for the devs honestly.
I got to plat (all soloq) and basically gave up at that point due to the matchmaking essentially punishing me with bad team mates.
"Updated matchmaking configuration in Tournament and Ranked Tournament modes, to help ensure closer matches by skill-rating"
On the upper tier i got matched with up to 3 ranks, gold to plat as for lower ranks i got match as low as bronze 3 (so that makes it around 10-15 ranks difference i think) and it is always an elastic shot effect, you win you get boosted you loose you get sent downward.
Usually you can notice it in the gameplay of your teamates, like bronze players rushing in the last 10 seconds to cash-in even if they are qualified or lights running on the other side of the map ignoring any team pings/voice, silver that forgets to stay alive and hide when its the last player, gold people forget going to high ground most of the times or when to engage, when i get to plat i will know more to write about lol...
Overall in a 3 team comp there is alot of carry potential, if you are better you will go up in rank, and starting with gold people are more team focused.
A big issue of loosing games is that everyone is getting caught up in the chaos instead of chilling a bit and look around before engaging.
no, when they didn't make it so premades get to beat up on solos when they still had 200,000 players, they wouldn't be down to 15.000 now
I do agree that premades should never be allowed to play against solo teams, but that's also an unrealistic ask in a mode that has 8 teams to start. Premade queues would be unreasonably long.
yeah, but if you did it when you still had 200,000 players...
It would still be unreasonably long. Most people play games solo.
