Lights sword vs dual blades
Just played as light with sword against dual blades and i have a question

Theoretically, is there any way for dual blades to win against sword? Lights has stun gun and most important sword secondary attack is literally uncounterable by dual blades?

The dude lost each encounter against me

It would be very difficult but not impossible for DB to win. Biggest edge the light has in this scenario besides the taser is the dash which saves them from retaliation, as far as raw damage is concerned the DB could kill a sword light faster than the other way around.

And the DB block does work against many more things than you'd think including quick melee and yes, melee weapons. Getting the block to actually cancel out the attack is so difficult and inconsistent however that it's really just a stroke of luck more than anything.

No, light swords are on a whole different level than DB. DB are meh at the best of times.

Yeah - troll lights just use sword or throwing knives + dash + invisibility....

Most toxic combo in the game, yet the devs seem to think its just fine while nerfing everything else into the ground.

for a winnable fight you neep a glitch trap set up before without you just can't win

Given the light’s sword lung the glitch trap won’t cancel that, explosive or incendiary mine is probably the best bet.

Even then the light could just throw a frag, pyro, or glitch, grenade to ignore your mines, and if you happen to be standing on top of them when he does the first two then you will probably die

Not very likely when in close quarters

TBH, does dual blade beat ANY melee weapon?

stop putting glitch on the floor and find walls or ceiling to place them. less likely to be destroyed by random stuff, esp. grenade launcher

I believe the context of what we are talking about is you got a sword light on you and you are placing mines at your feet to ward him away. And i believe this to be the most likely scenario since lights have movespeed and tools to ensure they get the first move advantage, they almost always pick where and when to fight. Maybe you have enough time to jump up and throw it at the ceiling or happen to be close enough to a wall to place it there. Regardless the light can just use a grenade to remove it, either pyro can be thrown directly on and frag/ glitch have enough AoE to reliably clear mines from ceilings and walls.

In the upper skill brackets that might be the optimal strategy but most others players, in my experience, are too thirsty for the kill and opt to go around traps.
