Linux/Proton version broke after update 3.6.0
Seems like they forgot to enable the linux checkbox in eac lol :(

edit:

Right click Proton Experimental in your steam library-
Go to Beta - and select Bleeding edge untested

make sure you select experimental under compatibility for the finals too ofc ;)

Hay I tried the fix mentioned in the post, it's still not working
I set proton experimental beta to bleeding-edge latest untested dxvk, vkd3d-proton

I've also tried other versions of proton-ge but still no luck.
I cleared the comptdata folder for the finals
and tried different launch options,
still no luck.

How to FIX LINUX CRASH for The Finals

  1. Open Steam:
Launch the Steam application on your computer.

  2. Go to your Steam Library:
Click on "Library" at the top of the Steam window to see your list of games.

  3. Find "The Finals":
Locate "The Finals" in your game list.

  4. Access Proton Experimental settings:
    • Right-click on "The Finals"
    • Select "Properties" from the dropdown menu

  5. Enable Proton Experimental:
    • In the Properties window, look for "Compatibility" on the left side
    • Check the box that says "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool"
    • From the dropdown menu, select "Proton Experimental"

  6. Set Proton Experimental to the bleeding edge version:
    • Close the Properties window
    • In your Steam Library, find "Proton Experimental" (it should be listed as a tool)
    • Right-click on it and select "Properties"
    • Go to the "Betas" tab
    • From the dropdown menu, select "bleeding-edge - latest and untested dxvk, vkd3d-proton and wine changes"

  7. Launch the game:
Now try launching "The Finals" from your Steam Library

Important notes:
  • The "bleeding-edge" version is untested and may have bugs. It's a good idea to back up your game data before using it.
  • If you encounter issues, you can always revert to the stable version of Proton Experimental or try a different Proton version.

After following these steps, The Finals should run on your system using the latest experimental version of Proton.

I get this too.... Seems if I exit and start the game again, most of the time it goes away...

Seems to trigger more if I switch out of The Finals while waiting for a game or if I use the Steam Overlay....
